The client needed to build a 10m high retaining wall structure adjacent to the water body, raising the platform level for plant construciton. This retaining system has to be able to withstand water erosion while staying within budget.
With good track record in providing quick installation yet cost effective solution, Tensar was approached by a repeat customer to assist in the retaining wall design. One of the biggest challenges in this project is that the wall is constantly exposed to occasional rise in water level. With that in mind, the facing of the reinforced soil structure is designed with the combination of modular blocks and wraparound. The modular block acts as a permanent scour protection, whereas wraparound facing promotes vegetation growth that eventually blends into the surrounding landscape.
